Backpacking Trip – Everyone came back!!

Twenty-seven people from COHBC went on our Annual Backpack—and everyone survived! We had a great time together in God’s creation fellowshipping, playing games, singing around the campfire, having S’Mores, and being challenged by devotions from God’s Word.

The weather was great, there were NO flies this time and it was a joy to be together. Plan on joining us for next year’s COHBC backpack.

Immanuel’s Child (Get ready for involvement in October)

This year as a church, we will be working again with the Russian church in Arkhangelsk to help them reach out to orphans and unbelieving families. “Immanuel’s Child” through the Slavic Gospel Association is a way to help provide the Russian church with resources to reach out to children and families during the Christmas season.

Each $25 gift for a “Christmas Star” will help the Russian church in Archangelsk provide a child with a special Christmas gift, a children’s Bible, candy & fruit, warm clothes/toiletries and Russian language discipleship materials. We had many people in our church body participate in this ministry opportunity last year, and it was a GREAT blessing to the church in Russia.

The reason we are reminding you about this now is so you can be preparing to be involved. In particular, we would encourage families, young people and children to consider ways they can plan ahead to be involved in this encouraging ministry opportunity. We will actually be signing up for Immanuel’s Child in October, but would encourage you to being preparing now.

Just by your viewing the advertisements(about 30 seconds with no obligation at all), organizations donate a set amount towards certain missionaries/gospel oriented efforts. I do this daily and it is very easy. I have attached a letter from Mark that explains this more clearly or you can go to the Gospel Forth website.

The basic idea of the site:

1) people visit www.gospelforth.com and click the "Give" button

2) visitors will see 3 pages of advertisements for Christian businesses

3) the businesses give money to support the proclamation of the Gospel each time their ad is viewed

Here is how you can be involved:

1) Visit the site every day and click the Give button. You can visit once each day to help raise money.

2) Forward this email to other Christians.

3) Add the YouTube video to your Facebook page so others can hear about this site.
